Terms of Engagement
1:1 Coaching with Shannon Jenkins
Contracts aren’t really my thing, but to make sure we’re clear and protected while building a strong coaching relationship, here are some simple Terms of Engagement. These terms outline how we’ll work together, keep things confidential, and ensure a positive experience for both of us.
To Get the Most Out of Coaching, You Agree To:
-
Show Up Fully
Coaching is a partnership, and your results depend on your participation. Be open, honest, and ready to dive deep into developing your communication skills.
-
Respect the Process
This is a judgment-free zone. Both of us are committed to creating a safe, productive space for growth.
1. Payment Terms
1.1. Payment Schedule
-
50% of the total coaching fee is due before the first session to confirm your coaching program.
-
The remaining 50% is due before the second half of your coaching sessions begins (e.g., after session 5 in a 10-session package).
1.2. Non-Refundable Payments
-
All payments made under this agreement are non-refundable.
-
In exceptional circumstances, refund requests may be reviewed at the sole discretion of Shannon Jenkins. Requests must be submitted in writing to hello@shannonjenkins.co.
1.3. Late Payments
-
Failure to make timely payments may result in the suspension or termination of services.
2. Confidentiality
Confidentiality is key to building trust and creating a space for vulnerability and growth. Here’s what you can expect:
2.1. Your Privacy
Anything we discuss during our sessions stays between us.
2.2. My Commitment
I will not share your personal details, progress, or materials with anyone else without your explicit consent (unless required by law).
2.3. Your Responsibility
Any materials, tools, or insights I share during our coaching sessions are for your personal use only and must not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without my written permission.
2.4. Exceptions to Confidentiality
Confidentiality may be waived in cases where there is a risk of harm to you or others, or if disclosure is required by law.
3. Session Policies
3.1. Scheduling
All coaching sessions are scheduled during the onboarding process prior to the first session. This ensures both parties can plan their commitments effectively.
3.2.1 Rescheduling and Cancellations
-
Rescheduling more than 10 days in advance is always possible.
-
For requests made within 10 days, rescheduling is permitted up to two times per coaching package in cases of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
-
Failure to provide sufficient notice or reschedule within these terms may result in forfeiting the session.
3.2.2. No-Show Policy
Failure to attend a scheduled session without notice may result in the session being forfeited.
3.3. Expiration of Sessions
-
All sessions must be completed within six (6) months of the first session unless agreed otherwise in writing.
-
Unused sessions beyond this timeframe will be forfeited and will not be eligible for rescheduling or refunds.
3.4. Pauses and Suspensions
Continuity plays a key role in achieving meaningful results. However, I understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. If you encounter a serious issue that impacts your ability to continue, you may request a pause or suspension of coaching services by emailing hello@shannonjenkins.co.
Decisions to pause or suspend services, including for medical or significant life events, are at my sole discretion and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
4. Respecting Boundaries and Intellectual Property
4.1. Session Materials
Any materials, tools, or techniques I share during our sessions are proprietary and designed for your use only.
Reproducing, distributing, or selling these materials without permission is prohibited.
4.2. Our Relationship
Coaching is a collaborative process, not therapy or professional counseling. I cannot diagnose or treat any mental health conditions. If additional support is needed, I encourage you to seek a licensed professional.
5. Termination of Services
5.1. Termination by the Client
You may terminate the coaching relationship at any time by providing written notice. No refunds will be issued for unused sessions.
5.2. Termination by Shannon Jenkins
I reserve the right to terminate our coaching relationship if I determine that it is no longer serving your best interests or if these Terms are violated. In such cases, unused sessions may be refunded at my discretion.
6. Liability
6.1. Limitations of Liability
I am not liable for any actions, decisions, or outcomes resulting from our coaching sessions.
By engaging in coaching, you accept full responsibility for your actions and results.
6.2. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your participation in coaching services.
7. Your Investment and Commitment
Coaching is a deeply personal and transformative process. By engaging in coaching with me, you’re committing to your own growth and success.
Coaching is a space for openness and respect. If either of us feels the relationship is not serving its purpose, we can choose to end it. Refunds will not be issued, but I will work with you to ensure a positive transition.
This agreement reflects a mutual understanding of our work together. Any changes or exceptions must be agreed upon in writing.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the canton of Vaud.
